The Scale toolbar provides buttons for common functions that affect the scale (including the Y-Axes and the Time Axis) of the active plot.
Click the images in the table below for a more detailed explanation of the underlying functionality for each button.
Button: |
Purpose: |
Summary: |
Zoom Out. |
Double the time period displayed for the active plot. |
|
Zoom In. |
Half the time period displayed for the active plot. |
|
|
Backwards |
Go backwards through the Browse History for the active plot. |
|
Forwards |
Go forwards through the Browse History for the active plot. |
Synchronize Plots. |
Set the time period for all the plot windows to be the same as that of the active plot.
Tip: Since Plot Synchronization sets the time period for all plots to be the same, it allows comparisons to be made between items that are being trended in different plot windows. |
|
|
Synchronize Cursors. |
This feature allows values in multiple trends to be examined at the same point in time by sweeping the cursor to the desired time period in a single 'lead' plot. The user can then read off process values for all variables at same instance in time without having to manually synchronize the individual plots first. |
|
Set Time Scale. |
Set the preferred time period for a plot using the select list. The Time Scale button can then be used to set the time period for the active plot to the pre-defined value.
Note: The time displayed is the preferred period and not the duration of the active plot. However, for convenience when the preferred time period is changed it also sets the time period for the active plot (to avoid having to click on the Time Scale Button after changed the selection). Tip: This can be very useful for quickly reverting to a preferred time period after zooming in or out on a plot. |
|
Fit to View. |
Recalculates the scales for all pens that are in Auto-Scaling mode based on the minimum and maximum values in the current time window.
Tip: This has the effect of 'maximising' the trends which makes small changes easier to see. |

Applies the "Fit to View" function to all the Plots within the active Session. |
